Emiliano Sala recently signed with Cardiff City from Nantes for a record deal of £15m. The player was on his way to join his teammates when the plane that he was in went off the radar.
The air control tower said that the pilot did not report any distress before the small plane went missing and lost contact with control tower.
Emilaino Sala and 2 other people were on board of a Piper PA 46 Malibu small airplane.
The airplane took off from Nantes airport and headed towards Cardiff Airport in UK. The plane lost contact around Alderney Channel Island.
“We can confirm Emiliano Sala was on board,” -A spokesman for the French Civil Aviation Authority
“This morning, the French research started with one French national navy ship and one aircraft. The investigation will determined which authority will take the lead on the research.” he added.
“I didn’t know anything. I couldn’t believe it,” he said. “I’m desperate. I hope everything goes well.” – Sala’s father Via BBC.
