The 30th birthday ceremony of former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua was gatecrashed by drug testers.
The footage of the act was shared by his manager, Freddie Cunningham, on social media. The testers gatecrashed when Joshua was preparing to tuck into a huge chocolate cake.
Joshua is preparing for the December 7 rematch with Andy Ruiz Jr who knocked him out in the US to collect his heavyweight titles. The celebration was ongoing during the middle of his training camp in Sheffield ahead of the clash.
He was therefore forced to give a blood sample after pals brought out a huge cake.
Joshua and Ruiz Jr had signed up to the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) testing which has been available throughout camp at any random time.
The Nigerian born British boxer recorded his first-ever loss in a professional fight to Ruiz in June. This was described as one of the sport’s biggest shocks. The rematch clause which has been activated will give Joshua more than double his net worth.
Anthony Joshua now with more muscle
The former world heavyweight probably didn’t take a bite from the cake as he prepares for the biggest fight of his career so far. Although, he has slimmed down in recent weeks, showcasing a much more slender figure as he gets ready to face Ruiz in Riyad, Saudi Arabia to promote the fight recently.
The Brit has shed muscle mass which would definitely improve his mobility. Joshua is leaving no stone unturned as he has been training hard to ensure no mistake as he prepares to recapture his world title belts.
Fans are thrilled about his new look. Some of them said he now looks more like a boxer than a bodybuilder.
