Arsenal’s head groundsman Reece Watson will leave the club after following Lingard’s dance floor remarks.

Reece Watson Joined Arsenal 13 years ago and he has worked his way up to become the head groundsman at Arsenal. His job is to lead fellow groundsman and take care of the pitch everyday. The health of the pitch is very important to the players in the club. Good pitch reduces the chance of players getting injured on the pitch. And also makes the game to look good because the ball moves better on a good pitch.

Arsenal faced Manchester united on Friday January 25th, 2019 for the 5th round FA Cup match. Manchester united won 3 – 1. Alexis Sanchez scored the first goal at 31’, Jesse Lingard scored the second goal for Manchester United at 33 minute and Anthony Martial sealed it off with the 3rdgoal at 82 minutes.   Pierre-Emerick Aubameang scored the lone goal for Arsenal at 43 minutes.  

The post match reaction by a United player caused uproar on social media. 

Jesse Lingard posted a picture of himself Jubilating after he scored and market the location as his Dance floor.   Lot’s of Arsenal fans saw this as an insult. 

A long time staff of Arsenal; Reece Watson Arsenal’s head groundsman decided that he would leave the club after Tuesday’s game vs Cardiff, siting Lingard’s remark as his reason for leaving.  

“13 years of looking after this pitch only for Jesse Lingard to treat it as a dance floor every f*cking time he’s here. I’ve had enough. I’m done.”  – Reece Watson Arsenal’s head groundsman – Reece
