Former Big Brother Nigeria (BBNaija) housemate, Seyi Awolowo has said the award-winning Avengers movie is an imitation of Sango, the God of thunder.
Seyi stated this while sharing insights on what he has gained during his meeting with the Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi in Osun state.
The journey involved his heart robe, Adesola, fast-rising comedian, Arole and other members of the Nigerian heritage group. They visited historical sites which include Moremi Ajasoro statue and other places to have an insight into the Yoruba culture.
The reality TV show star decided to seek knowledge of the history of the black man’s race and he got it in full from the source of knowledge itself.
The Nigerian identity
The model during his interaction with the monarch said the majority of Nigerians don’t even understand where they are coming from.
“A lot of them look to the West more for affirmation of who they are supposed to be. They need to dress either more, they need to listen to more that kind of music. There is a lot of things in that direction. Things like that didn’t favour us because a lot is still coming behind me; the coming generation.
“What’s already happening right now is really terrible. People think they have to be really bad to be cool. But just being good enough is being cool. Speaking the right way, understanding your language.
“People don’t know because they don’t have an insight into history which we want to try and preach. We want to preach the Nigerian heritage show. Let people appreciate our culture. Let us broadcast it to the world,” he said.
The impressed Ooni lauded him for his insight. He added that he spoke like his grandfather, the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, former Premier of the West.
