Germany’s group and England kicking off with Croatia has become the talk of Euro 2020 draw. Gareth Southgate’s World cup semi-finalists, England and Croatia kick-off at Wembley on June 14.
The draw continues the rivalry between the two teams who were the semi-finalists during the 2018 world cup. However, England will play Croatia and the Czech Republic, while Wales plays Italy. And Switzerland faces Turkey in Group A.
Germany, on the other hand, will face world champions, France, and European champions, Portugal in Group F. This group is the tournament’s ’group of death’.
Following this, Group D and F have been the toughest of the tournament. World cup runner ups meet in group D to continue their rivalry. While group F is full of former European champions going head-to-head.
England manager, Southgate suffered a 2-1 defeat to Croatia during the 2018 World cup semi-final. But beat them during the Nation League. Hence, seeing the team as a big opponent in the tournament.
Southgate’s team will meet the Playoff C path winner which could possibly be Scotland, Norway, Israel or Serbia. England and Croatia kick-off at Wembley on June 14.
The tournament will take place in 12 cities across Europe. It will be hosted across the continent for the first time to mark the 60th anniversary of the competition.
