Facebook Criminal Promising Girls Fake Marriage Arrested in Anambra

A 22-year-old Facebook criminal identified as David Maduabuchi has been arrested by police detectives attached to the Awada Division of the Anambra State Police Command. David whose style of operation is swindling girls online by promising to marry them has been thrown behind bars.

This was revealed on Wednesday by the Public Relations Officer of Police in Anambra, Mr. Haruna Mohammed. The suspect was arrested at Okpoko, a slum area near Onitsha, while he was doing his normal business. His usual style is deceiving girls to steal from their parents and send the fortunes to him on the basis that he would marry them.

Meanwhile, prior investigation revealed that the suspect has been in the business for a while. Interestingly, he has successfully duped two teenage girls identified as Miss Ogechi Miracle and Miss Chinansa Peter, both aged 18 years on Facebook after he promised to marry them. According to the report, the two ladies who fell victim of his gimmick stole the sum of #380,000 and #100,000 respectively from their presents. As if that was not enough, they stole laptops and other expensive gadgets and gave all to David.

Reasonably, David’s style of operation will only swindle vulnerable ladies who are anxious of getting married. As a matter of fact, his targeted prey are the single ladies, preferably teenage girls who knows little or nothing about relationship.

Consequently, Mr Haruna disclosed that the arrested suspect would be charged to court after proper investigation.
