Unknown armed men have on Saturday kidnapped the proprietor of Dynamite Ford Football Club. The football club is based in Iyamho, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo state, Bernard Jomah.
It was reported that the victim was abducted along the Okenne-Lokoja Road in Kogi State at about 8pm on Friday while he was returning from Abuja.
Meanwhile, some sources close to the family have corroborated the incident while addressing the media. They disclosed that his assailants have called to demand a whooping sum of N20m as ransom before his release.
Also, in a statement released yesterday by the media officer of the club, Mr. Shehu Momodu, he urged all security operatives within the metropolis of where the football club owner was abducted to come to the aid of the victim to facilitate his freedom. In his words, “We call on the Security outfit and Kogi State Government to please come to the aid of our Chairman to ensure his quick release from his Abductors.
Mr Momodu added that the case has been reported in Auchi and Benin respectively. However, there has not been any arrest in connection to the kidnap.
The rate and manner at which people are being abducted in this country are appalling. One would begin to wonder if there are no more security apparatus to put in place anymore. Kidnapping and brutal killings by hoodlums have been made so easy day by day. Hardly will a day passes without the news of a kidnap or gunmen killings been saturated on the media.
