It seems the football age drama that is dominant in Nigeria football is gradually creeping into the country’s music industry. Today, Nigerian singer, Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi tweeted that he is 21 years old contrary to available records which put his age at 28.
His tweet was a reaction to a tweet one of his followers sent to him asking how old he is. The follower came up with this question minutes after the singer announced that he would drop a video to a song he featured an American rapper, Tyga on. He released the song he titled: “Tony Montana” less than two hours before we published this article.
“@mreazi pls @Tyga is 30years old…how old are you?” His Twitter follower asked. “I’m just 21”, the singer responded.
This got his other Twitter followers talking and wondering whether the Banku music label boss was joking or just announcing his “football age”.
His tweet also prompted us to do a thorough background check on him. We discovered that Eazi was born on the 19th of July 1991. We also discovered that the Garden City of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria is his place of birth.
So, if our mathematical ability still has a good amount of potency, the singer turned 28 exactly four months ago.
Anyway, we just hope that he was joking with this claim or an attempt to get people’s attention especially for his new single “Tony Montanna”. If not, then we have another saga in our hands.
