The host of popular Big Brother Naija reality television show, Ebuka Obi Uchendu said he does not know why the eventual winner of the show, Eke Mercy was not disqualified.
On Friday, 27th September 2019, Mercy and her closest contender on the show, Tacha had a fight.
Due to the fight, Big Brother disqualified Tacha from the show. However, he allowed Mercy to continue, she ended up winning the show’s 60 million naira grand prize.
When Tacha was about to leave the house, some followers of the pepper dem’ reality show stood in solidarity with Tacha.
Many celebrities took to their social media pages to promise her cash gifts to compensate for her effort in the show.
While explaining the circumstances surrounding Tacha’s disqualification on Beat FM 99.9, Ebuka said it was bound to happen immediately she shoved Mercy’s hair.
“When Tacha shoved and pushed Mercy, I think that was when it was done, even before the hair-pulling.
“I am talking about the fight that started in the kitchen. Big Brother had called them to the kitchen to simmer down the situation, but the fight got even worse.
So way before the hair was pulled, there was already contact. With violence like that, it is hard to say, because Big Brother is very clear on that. You don’t put your hands on someone. If you allow a shove and push, tomorrow it becomes a punch.”
“I don’t know. As I said, I don’t make these decisions. But what Mercy did was flip her hair, which you could see was contact, but there are other sides to it.
