In case you haven’t heard, there is a full blown beef between Nigerian rappers M.I and Vector.
Award winning rap artist, Jude ‘M.I’ Abaga took his beef with fellow rap artist, Vector to the next level yesterday. Last night, M.I rocked a shirt with the inscription “NO SNAKES” when he performed at the grand finale show of the just concluded BBNaija “Pepper dem” reality TV show. Also, there was a computer generated snake – a viper to be precise – displayed on the stage ground as he performed his hit single, ‘Bad belle’.
This is clearly a shade at rapper Vector whose is fondly called “Vector the Viper”. M.I’s ‘shading’ performance comes as a follow up to the diss track he released last week. The diss track, titled ‘The Viper’, was released on Friday last week as a reply to Vector’s own diss track.
“No Snakes” even trended on micro blogging platform, Twitter last night.
Vector had, on the 27th of September, 2019, dropped a freestyle diss track for M.I titled “Tetracycling”.
The beef between these two artists has actually been brewing for years. It started as far back as in 2011, when both rappers were featured on a song called ‘M-F;iss’. In the song, M.I called himself the undisputed king of rap while Vector ended his verse with a cheap shot at M.I, he said: “I stay grounded like M.I” – referring to the rappers’ height or lack of it.
Since then, there had been shot to M.I from Vector – during interviews, subtle lines in songs, etc. this, however is the first time M.I replied Vector with a full diss track.
And judging by his performance during last night’s show, we haven’t heard the last from him. There is more coming!
Vector is yet to respond to the diss track or the ‘No Snakes’ performance.
