Today, February 14, is regarded in most parts of the world as Valentine’s Day and it is celebrated heavily by those who believe in the philosophy behind it. Nigeria is one of the countries where people are increasingly embracing the culture.
In this year’s edition of Valentine’s Day, Nigerians on Twitter decided to use the lyrical prowess of one of the finest rappers in Nigeria, MI Abaga, to celebrate the day. Most of them have been digging up and sharing love-related lyrics of the rapper.
Others have even gone as far as doing videos with transcriptions of some of his love songs that don’t have a music video. Also, one Twitter user dug up a video where MI Abaga was on stage reciting some poetic lines confessing love to an unidentified lover.
As at the time of publishing this report, the fans of the rapper have been tweeting the love lyrics of the rapper using the hashtag #LoveWithMiAbaga.
When the rapper woke up this morning and visited Twitter, he was apparently blown away to see that he was trending and tweeted to ask why he was trending. “👀 why am I trending? What have I done now.. checking over my tweets”, he tweeted?

His fans took to the comment section of the tweet, to introduce the reason why he was trending. They made him understand that he was not trending for the wrong reasons today but in celebration of his poetic prowess.
Meanwhile, it is worthy of note that Valentine’s Day, also called Saint Valentine’s Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine, is celebrated annually on February 14. Originating as a Western Christian feast day honouring one or two early saints named Valentinus, Valentine’s Day is recognized as a significant cultural, religious, and commercial celebration of romance and romantic love in many regions around the world.
