Nigerian singer Eedris Abdulkareem arrested for beating landlord over unpaid electricity bill

Popular Nigerian singer, Eedris Abdulkareem has been arrested for beating his landlord, Oladipo Abimbola, over an unpaid electricity bill which amounts to N535,000 on January 3, 2020. The incident occurred at Valley View Estate in the capital city of Lagos, Ikeja.

According to the information available to the newsmen, the singer forcefully gains entry into his landlord’s compound in Lagos, he strangled and beat the landlord up for ordering the officials of Ikeja Electricity Distribution (IKED) to disconnect his house over the unpaid bills.

Meanwhile, the landlord explained that he doesn’t know that the singer was his tenant. According to him, Eedris Abdulkareem’s wife rented the apartment on behalf of her husband.

The landlord called on the Nigerian police to help him. He stated that Eedris Abdulkareem is antisocial and highly dangerous, he will stop at nothing until he carries out his threat. More so, he owes rent constantly, so apparently, the beating game has just started for the landlord.

However, the popular singer has denied the allegation leveled against him. He stated that he never assaulted made any attempt to do that to his landlord. Eedris explained that it was his landlord who had sexually harassed his wife right in front of him and all efforts to make him stop proved abortive.

Also, he revealed that his landlord has been arrested for sexually harassing a female tenant before now.

The ‘Nigeria Jaga Jaga’ crooner disclosed that on several occasions will their landlord encroached to their side of the compound without their permission just to see his wife. Reasonably, the case is still ongoing as investigations are been carried out.
