Ogun State Police Command has arrested one pastor Sunday Adelaja, For allegedly defiling and impregnating a 16-year-old girl in the state. The incident happened at the Ijebu-ife area of the state.
It was reported that the suspect is married to two wives. Nonetheless, Pastor Adelaja’s philandering nature won’t make him zip up when there is a need for it.
It was also reported that Adelaja on two separate occasions had canal knowledge of the victim which before leading to Pregnancy.
The report revealed that the victim’s parents had gone to attend a meeting at the palace of the community’s traditional ruler sometime in June 2019, leaving her behind. This gave Adelaja the opportunity of meeting the victim. He invited the victim pretending that he wanted to ask her questions.
However, the 40-year-old pastor had carnal knowledge of the girl instead. Also, another occasion was when the victim was sent on an errand by her parents. The suspect stopped her on the road, took her to his place and had her way with her.
While recounting how the pregnancy saga started. The victim explained that “My parents were in a meeting at the palace that day when the pastor asked me to come. He said he wanted to ask me something and took me to his second house. When we got there, I asked him what our mission was and he said I should be patient. He then shut the door and pushed me on the bed.
“I tried to struggle with him but he overpowered me. After he had sex with me, he told me not to tell anyone. One week after, he stopped me along the road, took me to his house and had sex with me again.
“Some weeks ago, my mother was worried about how I was behaving and she took me to hospital. It was confirmed there that I am pregnant. The pastor was the only person that had sex with me and he didn’t deny it.”
Confirming the news, the victim’s father told newsmen that the victim’s mother was scared to tell him at first. But Pastor did not deny the pregnancy, he (suspect) offered to be paying N2,000 daily for the upkeep of the girl, he said.
Meanwhile, the suspect is currently unwinding at Police custody.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the case, adding that investigation was ongoing.
