Veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie has described the comment a US-based Nigerian blogger Sugabelly made against him as meaningless.
NigeriaTunes reported that Sugabelly tweeted that Edochie is a bad actor for not being versatile in his roles.
Her tweet resulted to a Twitter frenzy as Nollywood lovers on the platform attacked her on Edochie’s behalf.
However, Pete Edochie told Punch’s Sunday Scoop that what people say about him doesn’t bother him because they don’t make sense to him.
He said is training as a broadcaster has taught him how to be an articulate individual who should not respond to everything people say.
According to the 72 years old father of two Nollywood actors, Yul and Linc Edochie, everyone knows how articulate he is and he doesn’t have to advertise it.
Here are his words:
‘‘I’ll be honest with you; I’m indifferent to opinions expressed about me because they don’t make sense to me. If Pete Edochie is a fantastic actor, thank you very much…
“It doesn’t mean anything to me; it has absolutely nothing to do with me. If you start responding to things that don’t make sense, there is that danger of reducing yourself to the level of that person. I’m mentally occupied 24 hours on a daily basis. I trained formally as a broadcaster and by the grace of God, I happen to be an articulate individual. I don’t have to advertise that, every other person knows that.”
