One of Africa’s greatest rapper and Ghana’s Hip-Hop legend, Michael Owusu Addo alias Sarkodie has called on Ghanaian music promoters based outside Ghana to unite in order to make magic in 2020.
The rapper who stated this via a tweet on Saturday urged the Ghanaian promoters to relegate the “I did it” concept and embrace the “we did it” concept in order to achieve maximum effect in this year.
This tweet which supposed to be advice from arguably the most decorated entertainer in Ghana did not go down well with some of his Twitter followers. From the time he shared the tweet to the time of publishing this report, some of his followers have been urging him not to be just an advisor but to lead by example.
They urged him to show that he really means what he preaches by working with one of his arch-rival in the Ghanaian entertainment scene Shatta Wale. Despite the fact that the rapper is gradually becoming a king of features, he has no known joint with the controversial Shatta Wale in recent years.
Besides, the jabs Twitter streets have subjected Sarkodie to since he dropped the tweet, some of his Twitter followers applauded him for sharing such a timely message. A few of them argued that because of lack of unity amidst Ghanaian show promoters, that’s why the music stars in Ghana don’t get big gigs across the world like their Nigerian counterparts.
Well, the fast-paced rapper has spoken, the jabs and praises were still rolling in as at the time of publishing this report. But, it is left to the show promoters involved to heed to the advice so that Ghanaian music can make the kind of magic Sarkodie is envisaging in 2020.
This is Sarkodie’s Message to Ghanaian promoters based outside Ghana…
