A professor at Obafemi Awolowo was sent to jail for demanding sex from students before passing them. Richard Akindele was a lecturer at Obafemi Awololow University before he was fired for sex for mark allegation. Monica Osagie, a student at Obafemi Awolowo accused him of sexual harassment.
The student provided shocking evidence against the professor; As a result, he fired by his employer at Obafemi Awolowo University. The case went to court, after few hearings, he was found guilty and sent to jail.
A judge at the federal high court in Osogbo, Osun state handed down 2 years in jail verdict on the professor Richard Akindele. Monica Osagie, a student at Obafemi Awolowo University exposed the professor when he demanded that she sleep with him before she can pass his class.
Justice Maureen Onyetenu of the Federal High Court in Osogbo, Osun state has sentenced Professor Richard Akindele, a former lecturer at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, to 2 years in prison for demanding sex to pass one of his students, Monica Osagie.
Richard Akindele changed his mind and pleads guilty during the follow up hearing on December 17, 2018. He initially plead ‘not guilty’.
