Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy had a long-standing beef as they often clash over random things.
They were both nominated for the best Reggae/Dancehall Artist of the year award at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (2019 VGMA).
The 2019 VGMA award presenter announced Stonebwoy as the winner of the Best Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the year award and Shatta Wale crashed the stage immediately.
A young man a blue suit challenged him immediately and a fight broke out between Shatta Wale’s crew and Stonebwoy’s crew. The security struggled to separate them and Stonebwoy pulled out a gun from his man-purse.
The security discharged pepper spray to deescalate the commotion, the host ended the show, and the guests were evacuated.
According to records, Stonebwoy has won the Reggae Artist of the year for 5 consecutive years.
Shatta Wale’s “My level” and “Gringo” song won the Highlife song of the year and the Reggae, Dancehall song of the year award respectively.
Shatta Wale wasn’t happy that Stonebwoy won the 2019 Best Reggae/Dancehall award. He crashed the stage and a fight ensues. As a result, Stonebwoy pulled out a gun on stage. No one was hurt or injured.
The show was stopped following the fight and Shatta Wale and his crew left the building.
