Arguably, the most talked-about story related to a celebrity in Nigeria in 2019 is the rape allegation Busola Dakolo, the wife of Nigerian musician, Timi Dakolo levelled against the Senior Pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Biodun Fatoyinbo.
Busola Dakolo, in an interview in June 2019 disclosed how the pastor met her in her family home when she was a teenager and forcefully had sex with her in the sitting room and then at the bonnet of his car.
This incident, according to her story, happened over 20 years ago; hence, it generated a divided opinion and commentaries amidst Nigerians and all forms of media across the world. Some believed that the story was made-up, even the court of law did not believe her. She, however, has some sympathizers who still stand by her story to date.
All that drama and her steadfastness on what she believes in earned her a place on “This Day” List of 2019 Game Changers. She made the list alongside some prominent people like Grammy Nominee Burna Boy, Africa richest man, Aliko Dangote, World Heavyweight Champion, Anthony Joshua and the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Amina Muhammad.
Reacting to the news, her husband took to Instagram on Monday to share the cover of the publication carrying his wife’s face and other people on the list. “Thank you for having the boldness to expose Evil”, he wrote.
This is the post Timi Dakolo shared to congratulate his wife:

This is for every woman who have been carrying the burden of being abused and raped for years without the courage to speak your truth. I hope my truth and fearlessness give you the strength to confront your abuser whenever you are ready. Truth is like surgery it hurts for a while but it eventually heals. Also this goes to individuals and institutions that provide support to Overcomers. Thank you for all you do. @thisdaystyle thank you 🙏 Awareness is a big Victory.
