Nigerian musician Timi Dakolo was shocked to see how well an election can be organised as he experienced Election Day in the United Kingdom for the first time.
The UK held its election on Thursday, December 12, 2019, which saw Boris Johnson’s Conservative Party return to power winning the majority.
In reaction to how everything went so smoothly, Timi Dakolo compared it to the drama that used to happen in Election Day in Nigeria.
He said when he was told that it was an Election Day, he thought it would be a sit at home situation just like how it used to be in Nigeria where everything is always on lockdown because of an election.
According to the musician who now stays more in London since his music deal with Virgin EMI, he was surprised to see that it is business as usual on Election Day in the UK.
“Businesses are open, cars are moving up and down. I strolled to a polling station,1minute person don vote comot”, the ” Merry Christmas Darling” crooner tweeted on Friday morning, December 13, 2019.
