Nigeriatunes reported last month that Tiwa Savage demanded to terminate her contract with Mavin Records in other to have more control of her career and to keep more of her money. She told Don Jazzy that she’d like to move on with her career and Don Jazzy gave her his blessings after they reached agreement on their financial allocations.
Tiwa Savage started her music career with Mavin Records, she was the lead act of the record company before her departure, and she became a worldwide superstar while working with Don Jazzy as her boss and producer. She spent 7 years with Mavin records before her untimely departure.
Tiwa Savage signed a big contract with Universal Music Group, and the deal is estimated to be worth multimillion in dollars in the coming years.
She released 3 chart-topping albums under Mavin, Once Upon A Time, R.E.D and Sugarcane.
Music mogul Efe Ogbeni and Vanessa Amadi-Ogbonna helped Tiwa savage to broker the deal with Universal music group. The terms and conditions of the deal remain a secret but people familiar with the deal, spoke in anonymity and confirmed that Don Jazzy was paid a huge payment in other to make both sides happy. She is now officially a Universal music group artist.
