United States armed robber splashes dollars in air for passer-by wishing them ‘merry Christmas’

An unidentified armed robber splashed stolen cash in the air for passers-by on Christmas day in the US. The white-bearded robber was seen wishing people a merry Christmas while throwing cash he had stolen from a bank two days ago in the air, US media reported.

According to the Colorado Police, the “older white male” robbed the Academy Bank in Colorado Springs. Reports revealed that the man threatened workers with an unidentified weapon, he whisked an unknown amount during the robbery on Monday. In a statement released by the Colorado, Police department, “He started throwing money out of the bag and then said, ‘Merry Christmas!” witness Dion Pascale told local station KKTV 11 News.

Meanwhile, a 65-year-old man identified as David Wayne Oliver was arrested in a nearby Starbucks after the event. However, reports revealed that there is no evidence to prove that the arrested man was the same person who robbed the bank on Monday.

Some eyewitnesses also disclosed that there was no sign of arm on Oliver during the time of his arrest.

Reasonably, some of the passers-by who had taken some of the cash the suspected robber splashed in the air returned it to the bank. However, an officer revealed that thousands of dollars are still missing.

Funnily, there is no better way to celebrate Christmas than this. Blessings just decided to come the way of some of the passers-by who were fortunate to pick some dollars. There is no doubt that this Christmas will be one to remember.
